Tom and Angel Dorame

Tom and Angel Dorame were born in Douglas, Arizona. Influenced by their father's musical talent (Angel Sr. played guitar), the two brothers eventually became musicians themselves. Tom Dorame writes, "My brother Angel and I spent the majority of our teen years playing music. In the early 60s, we formed a little group that went by the name The Gents. I played bass and Angel played guitar. We brought in Freddie Gonzales (drummer) and Ron Story (lead guitar) later on and changed the band's name to The Travelers. One night at practice, we created "Spanish Moon" and decided to release it. We were the only group in Tucson at the time to record."

"My brother Angel and I still live in Tucson where we are currently recording a CD. Its almost been 50 years since my time with The Travelers, but our music remains alive and well in our hearts. Its been a long hard road and quite an experience. Maybe our music will return someday so that others can enjoy it as much as we did."

Tom retired from the City of Tucson (Housing Department). He and his wife, Joey, have four children and four grandchildren. Angel continues to work as a barber in Tucson where he lives with his wife Sandy. They have two children.

*** UPDATE: The Travelers website would like to extend our sincerest condolences to the Dorame family. Tom passed away on September 19, 2015 at the age of 69. We love you, Tommy. R.I.P.
